+++ Due to the worldwide Covid-19 spread, the I.S.E.O. Summer School 2020 (originally planned 13-20 June 2020) is suspended. The I.S.E.O. Institute will announce new dates as soon as the health situation will be well settled, in order to ensure participants and speakers’ safety. Thank you for your understanding +++

DESCRIPTION

The I.S.E.O. Institute is extremely honoured to feature Nobel Laureate in Economics Peter Diamond (Mit) and Michael Spence (New York University) as well as Nobel Laureate for Peace Riccardo Valentini (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, University of Tuscia) as keynote speakers for the 17th edition of the I.S.E.O Summer School. The panel will be further enriched by the presence of additional international economists, whose names will be announced later.

The I.S.E.O Summer School is an international summer course focused on the most topical economic discussion.  The 2020 edition will be centred on “The Road Ahead: the Future of the Global Economy” and it will investigate some of the big issues that will affect the global economy in the next few years. Economic growth, (income) inequalities, impact of the technological changes on labour market,  new approaches to social security and sustainable development are just few of the topics which will be covered during the intensive one week course.

From the very first edition in 2004, the I.S.E.O. Summer School gathers a large number of graduate students in Economics (phd, master, young assistants: between 60 and 70 participants per year) coming from the most important faculties around the world.

The I.S.E.O. Summer School is based on a fair combination of lectures (morning and afternoon sessions), debates and discussion on one hand, and trips and excursion into the most beautiful corners of Northern Italy on the other.

The course takes place in Iseo, a peaceful village facing the homonymous lake (Iseo lake) in Northern Italy,  not too far from Milan. Both classes and accommodation are going to be hosted at the Iseolago hotel, a charming four star hotel by the lake.

For further general information about the I.S.E.O. Summer School you can visit the dedicated web page, video and photogallery.
