The V edition of the international conference "The European Colloquia" was really special.
First of all, the location: for the first time since the meeting was born, the organizers decided to set it in the wonderful area called "Franciacorta", in Northern Italy, where the I.S.E.O Institute is based and where it usually promotes its activities.
Hence, after having organized the previous editions in some of the most important cities in Europe (such as Prague, Wien, Venice and London) the 2011 edition was located on the Iseo lake ( for those who don't know Iseo is the name of a town, the name of the Alpine lake, and I.S.E.O is also the name of the institute, which stands for Istituto di Studi Economici e per l'Occupazione).
Secondly, the V edition has been one of the most interesting ever organized: the contents of the meeting were based on topical issues and had a deep impact on the international political and economical debate.
The Nobel Laureates discussed about world wide important themes such as the Greek crisis and the survival of the Euro, the economical choices of the European Union, the unemployment rate and many other interesting concepts.
The audience was represented by 300 top managers and academics from all over the world who, at the end of the meeting, joined a lovely boat tour to discover the charming skyline of the Iseo lake.
