The I.S.E.O Summer School is an international summer course focused on the most topical economic discussion.  The 18th edition will be centred on “The post pandemic economic recovery” and will investigate some of the biggest challenges that global economy is facing and will face, after the pandemic. Growth, sustainable development, climate change, inequalities, labour markets, digital technologies & Ai are just some of the topics which will be covered during the intensive one week course.

Conducted entirely in English, lectures at the I.S.E.O. Summer School are all made of a first part of straight talk by the speaker, followed by a second part of Q&A with the participants.

As from the very first edition in 2004, the course will gather graduate and post graduate students in Economics coming from the all over the world.

The 18th edition of the course takes place both in presence and online.

Participants wishing to attend in presence are invited to come to Iseo, a picturesque village facing the homonymous lake (Iseo lake) in Northern Italy,  not too far from Milan. Both classes and accommodation are going to be hosted at the Iseolago hotel, a charming four star hotel by the lake. Attendees will have the chance to spend some quality time with international participants and speakers lecturing onsite, as well as to enjoy the place, the food and all the interesting free time activities (yoga by the lake, kayaking, trips, wine tasting) organized during the week, in an informal, multicultural and stimulating atmosphere which is peculiar to the I.S.E.O. Summer School.

However, the I.S.E.O. Institute wishes to give participants from all over the world the chance to get the latest research and insights from Nobel Laureates and experts in Economics, even though they can’t make it to travel to Iseo. Therefore, participants can choose to attend the course online: they will follow (live) the same academic program we offer to onsite participants, and will also have the same chance to participate, ask questions, join Q&A and attend “Your lecture” sessions. Lectures will be broadcasted live in afternoon sessions (Cet), and will also be available on demand for those wishing to re-watch it.

As mentioned above, some of the speakers will be lecturing online, some in presence in Iseo.

The I.S.E.O. Institute will give a few participants attending online or in presence the chance to present their research in front of the whole group of students and, possibly, of some speakers. Participants can apply to the “Your lecture” session while submitting their application form or  in a later stage.
