61st International Conference – Futura Colloquia

On June 6th, 2025, the I.S.E.O. Institute and the University of Brescia organized the 3rd edition of the “Futura Colloquia” project, an initiative co-promoted and co-financed jointly with the Camera di Commercio di Brescia. This event was designed to provide a forum for in-depth discussions on the major themes of the global economy, themes affecting and having a wide impact also on the economic and entrepreneurial sector of the province of Brescia. The conference was focused on topics related to sustainable economics and to the challenges to the future of work, aiming to explore practical applications and implications also for the local community.

The conference hosted at the MO.CA, Centro per le Nuove Culture in via Moretto 78, Brescia was a resounding success. A large audience gathered to hear experts discuss topics such as the current global imbalances, the trade wars fought with tariffs, the new challenges of the environmental economy, and, furthermore, finance in the midst of a demographic winter.

The panel of speakers included a group of highly esteemed experts from around the world:

• Robert Merton | Nobel Laureate in Economics 1997, Mit, and Visiting Professor at the University of Brescia in June 2025
• Mario Del Pero | Professor of International History at Sciences Po and Senior Associate Research Fellow at ISPI
• Daniel Gros | Director of the Institute for European Policymaking at Università Bocconi
• Elena Verdolini | Climate Economist, Professor of Economics at the University of Brescia
